Alicia Faye Smith, formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 (59 yrs) at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY.
She was born Jan 26, 1965, at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, IN, from the late George and Jeri (Iceberg) Smith. Following a 1983 graduation from South Dearborn High School, she went on to obtain a Graphic Art BA from Ball State University. Her graphic artist career took her from Indianapolis, IN (NAPA Balkamp, 10 yrs) to Houston, TX (IKON, 5 yrs) to Atlanta, GA (IKON, 3 yrs) and finally to Richmond, VA (Genworth Financial, 15 years) where she started as a Sourcing Leader for Print and was promoted to an IT Print Manager.
In addition to her prosperous career, Alicia heavily prioritized family. She loved being a mother and then eventually a grandmother, and involved her extended family with traveling, boating, swimming, cooking, and general quality time. She was seen as loving, kind, fun, adventurous, and generous, while always remaining strong and independent. She naturally attracted people, leading to long-term devoted friendships with both people and multiple dogs.
Alicia is survived by son Ryan Smith (Kristen Pierson) and granddaughter Charlotte Faye Smith of Caledonia, MS; sister Margo (Bob) Northcutt of Richmond, VA; niece Miranda (Dwight) Watson of Glen Allen, VA; nephew Bobby Northcutt of Columbus, OH; great-niece Kaya & great-nephew Tyus Watson of Glen Allen, VA; fiancé Gil Alford of Connersville, IN; goddaughter Jessica Knudsen-Bahney of Indianapolis, IN; an uncle, aunts and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeri Smith of Aurora, IN.
Visitation for Alicia Faye Smith will be 11:00 – 1:30, Saturday, Aug 10, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church. 215 Fourth Street, Aurora, IN 47001.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 pm, with Pastor Bob Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
