Albert F. Schwartz Jr., age 93 of Batesville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at home. Born February 4, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is the son of Elizabeth (Nee: Prietzsch) and Albert Schwartz Sr. He married Barbara Fife on August 30, 1957, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2021. Al enlisted in the US Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War as a cryptanalytic specialist for the Army Intelligence Corp. He also worked in the I.T. department for Hillenbrand Industries before retiring.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara (Rick) Bennett; sons Albert Schwartz III, Philip Fife, and Kenneth (Brenda) Schwartz; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Donald Schwartz and a grandson.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 2nd from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home and will conclude with a brief patriotic salute.
