Alan Leonard “Big Al” Henry

Alan Leonard “Big Al” Henry, 76, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Batesville, Indiana.

He was born September 24, 1945, in Milan, IN, of the late Leonard William “Bud” Henry and Velma Ivorea (Emery) Henry.

Alan proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army in gunnery and artillery.

He worked at Seagram’s, retiring after 38 years of service.

Alan’s passion was farming with his brothers. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed raising cattle and tobacco. He was a sports fan, enjoyed playing softball and watching IU basketball under Bobby Knight, as well as, the Cincinnati Reds. Alan most enjoyed sitting under his favorite tree in the side yard bird watching, and enjoying his time with his granddaughter.

Alan is survived by his loving daughters, Kristi (Kenny) Roland of Aurora, IN, Kimberly Henry of Aurora, IN; siblings, Kenny (Cathy Henry) Henry of Aurora, IN, Ronnie Henry of Aurora, IN, Debbie Brown of Rising Sun, IN; grandchildren, Claire Elliott, Amanda Roland, Kelsie Roland, Megan Roland, Sara Ware; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Beverly Henry; father, Leonard “Bud” Henry; mother, Velma Ivorea Henry.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 26, 2022, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN.

Memorial services will be held at the Funeral Home, at 2:00 pm, following visitation.

Interment will follow in the Hogan Hill Cemetery, Aurora, IN. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.
