Agnes Catherine Bauer

Agnes Catherine (Armbruster) Bauer, 92, of Moores Hill, IN, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Lawrenceburg, IN.

She was born February 7, 1931, in Lawrenceburg, IN, daughter of the late Henry A. and Clara Ida (Zeigler) Armbruster.
Agnes attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School and graduated in the class of 1949 from Aurora High School. She worked at Teaney’s Grocery Store for many years either full time or part time in the produce department. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she was a very faithful member.

Agnes married Leonard Calvin Bauer on January 31, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church and they purchased a farm in Moores Hill where they worked together raising beef cattle. Agnes enjoyed the outdoors, collecting and refinishing antique furniture, yard sales, reading, cooking, and meeting friends and cousins for lunch, playing cards, and working puzzles, and shopping. After her husband passed in October 2017 and until February 2023 she was still driving friends and relatives to appointments. After she quit driving, she was always ready to take a ride around the block, around town, or the countryside. Agnes was a hard worker and was very independent. Her faith and her family were very important to her.

Agnes will be greatly missed by her six children: Leonard (Barbara) Bauer of Aurora, IN; Martha (Bill) Bishop of Milan, IN; Michael (Amy) Bauer of Aurora, IN; Mark (Juanita) Bauer of Moores Hill, IN; Daniel (Sherry) Bauer of Aurora, IN; Michelle (Marty) Short of Moores Hill, IN; two sisters-in-law, Rhodonna Bauer and Mary Cornelius; grandchildren, Erica (Brian) Alsip, Gregory (Rachel) Bishop, Kevin (Alison) Bishop, Alison (Marshall) Williamson, Mikey (Cayla Bowling) Bauer, Kristen Klayman, Danielle (Tim) Kopera, Matthew Bauer, Robert (Alyssa) Schwarz, Joshua Schwarz; great grandchildren, Conner Alsip, Zeke Alsip, Katherine Bishop, Rebecca Bishop, Henry Bishop, Ruth Bishop, Gemma Bishop, Pearson Williamson, Kolt Klayman, Kael Klayman, Krew Klayman, Oakley Bauer, Emma Kopera, Braxton Schwarz, Liam Schwarz; several step-grandchildren, step-greatgrandchildren and step-great, great grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. – Noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on 4th Street, Aurora, IN. Mass will be held immediately following at Noon. Private burial will be held at Greendale Cemetery at a future date.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moores Hill Life Squad, Greendale Cemetery or a Mass can be made in her memory.
