Adele F. Wilhelm

Adele F. Wilhelm, age 88 of Batesville, went to be with angels Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  Born October 3, 1934 in Cincinnati, she is the daughter of Charlotte (Nee: Horstman) and Frank Wittekind.  She married Arthur Wilhelm August 28, 1965 at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwood, Ohio.

Faith and family were Adele’s priorities.  A devout woman, she loved spending time with family.  Grandma couldn’t get enough of her grandkids, but Adele also enjoyed family gatherings where she was often the life of the party.  A homemaker, she liked her home, the block she lived on and appreciated her wonderful neighbors.  She could often be seen on her porch swing as well as on the riding lawn mower cutting grass, which she referred to as her therapy.  A custom from days gone by, Adele sent cards to family and friends on special occasion’s and holiday’s, always including a special note with each card.  And apparently she loved to talk on the phone.  Her family teased, “No, really, she LOVED to talk on the phone.”

Adele is survived by her husband Art; daughter Amy Lawson of Maryville, Tennessee; son Jeff Wilhelm of Sunman; sisters Margretta Huster of Cincinnati, Charlotte Wittekind Schoenberger (Bootsie) and grandchildren Luke and John Wilhelm.  In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Sr. Mary Rose Wittekind O.P.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 14th, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home.  Funeral services follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family requests memorials to the Wilhelm Grandchildren College Education Fund or the St. Louis Church Religious Education Fund.  For onlined condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
