Letts, IN — On Monday, Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident with injury near the intersection of State Road 3 and County Road 700 West.
At around 4:30 pm, a truck that was southbound on State Road 3 was reportedly off the roadway near 700 West and struck a tree. The vehicle was wrapped around the tree and the driver of the vehicle was entrapped in the vehicle. The Greensburg Fire Department was able to extract the driver from the vehicle and the driver was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital by Lifeline. The driver was reportedly from out of state.
The incident remains under investigation. Agencies responding included Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County Communications Center, Letts Volunteer Fire Department, Westport Volunteer Fire Department, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, Lifeline, and Sweet’s wrecker.
