Accident leaves several without power

North Vernon, IN–Tuesday morning, Jennings County Deputies responded to a call of a personal injury accident on County Road 200 East near County Road 850 North in Sand Creek Township. Upon arrival, it was determined that Hannah Marksberry, 22, of Greensburg, was driving a 2005 Ford Expedition southbound on County Road 200 East when her vehicle’s passenger-side tires went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then returned to the roadway where it was overcorrected and went off the roadway to the left. The vehicle started to roll where it struck a utility pole on the passenger side. The Decatur County REMC utility pole snapped, leaving part of the pole dangling in the air while the vehicle came to rest on its side in a field.

Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle, ages 2 and 3, were seriously injured and eventually taken to an Indianapolis area hospital. Both juveniles were in car seats at the time of the crash. Marksberry did not seek medical treatment. The investigation is still ongoing.  Power was restored in the area within an hour.
