Mary Phyllis Blevins, 70, of Laurel, IN, passed away Wednesday morning, June 22, 2016 at Lincoln Centers of Connersville.
She was born July 30, 1945 in Connersville, one of seven children of Logan and Leona McQueen Tankersley.
On December 1967 until her retirement in 1997, she was employed at Philco-Ford/Visteon with 30 years of service.
She was married for 38 years to James Blevins, who passed away October 5, 2015.
She was a member of the Laurel Pentecostal Church. In her leisure, she enjoyed playing adult softball, basketball, dancing and attending family sporting events. She also was enjoying learning to play the piano.
Survivors include four children, Dwayne Blevins, of Rushville, IN, Leona Fultz, of Shirley, IN, Dolly (Carmen L.) Blevins, of Connersville and Tammy (Justin) McQueen, of Laurel; eleven grandchildren, Michael, Autumn, William, Sabrina, Cierra, Michael, Christopher, Miranda, A.J., Chantal and Adrian; a number of great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Barbara) Tankersley, of Cincinnati, OH; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ollie Griffin, Lucy Hill and Fern Johnson; two brothers, John Ambrose Tankersley and Everett Tankersley; three nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be in 5 PM, Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Laurel Pentecostal Church with Pastor Glen Goins officiating. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery.
