Marjorie C. Schwegman, of Brookville, was born on November 4, 1924 in Youngs Corner, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Risselman Sturwold. She married Orville W. Schwegman at St. Peter’s Church on October 30, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2000. Marjorie was a homemaker and also held several jobs over her years including working at Rosenberger’s Market. She was a long-time member of Holy Guardian Angel Church in Cedar Grove and then St. Michael Church in Brookville. Marjorie was always dedicated to family and loved her time spent with the kids, grandkids, great grandkids and her numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed flowers and gardening as well as dancing, cards and cooking-especially with new recipes. On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the age of 91, Marjorie passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
Those surviving who will cherish Marjorie’s memory include her children, Velda (Patric) Clark of Brookville, Joyce (Bill) Kays of Connersville, Sharon (Wayne) Halcomb of Brookville, Janice (Tom) Suding of North Vernon, Barbara (Dave) Apsley of Wellston, OH, Laura (Darin) Hodapp of Brookville, and Vernon “Ernie” (Phyllis) Schwegman of Brookville; 20 grandchildren, Jeff Clark, Jill (Michael) Lanning, Jennifer (Joel) Biltz, Brian Kays, Kimberly (Tony) Corsaro, Douglas (Angela) Halcomb, Craig (Magan) Halcomb, Joni (Ben) Goins, Josh Schwegman, Blake Suding, Erica Suding, Alexandria Suding, Ethan Suding, Victoria Suding, Aaron Apsley, Jessica Apsley, William Apsley, Alexander Hodapp, Kairee Hodapp, and Bryce Hodapp; 11 great grandchildren, Drew Lanning, Bentley Biltz, Bailey Biltz, AJ Corsaro, Gabriel Corsaro, Brady Corsaro, Grant Halcomb, Brittany Halcomb, Hudson Goins, Madelyn Goins and Nolan Goins, and one sister-in-law, Florence Sturwold of Greensburg. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Albert, Stanley, Harry and Andy Sturwold and sister, Mildred Bischoff.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 92 Main Street, Brookville. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Guardian Angel Church in Cedar Grove at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
