Marion E. Williams, age 89 of Greensburg and formerly of Cincinnati, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. Born May 21, 1927 in Cincinnati, she is the daughter of Anna (Nee: Noel) and John Windisch. She married Gerald Williams October 20, 1951 in Cincinnati and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2011. A homemaker, she also worked 25 years for Sears in the Telephone Department and was a former member of the Eastern Star in Cincinnati.
Marion was gifted artistically making stained glass, painting and drawing. She also loved to travel and was able to visit 48 of the 50 states. A trip to Alaska was among her favorites. Other interests included golf in her younger years and bingo in later years, following the Reds, watching old movies and she was a huge John Wayne fan. Marion also had a fondness for animals and jewelry. Her daughters teased that she’d buy clothes that she would never wear and as far as her cooking skills, well, her favorite recipe was eating out.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Martie and Dennis Eernisse of Cincinnati, Sharen and Archie Brown of Greensburg; sister Margie Semona of Cincinnati; grandchildren Dana (Corey) Buchholz, Joshua (Lindsay) Eernisse, Ashley Brown, Nathan Brown and great grandchildren Malia, Malachi and Micah Buchholz and Olivia Eernisse. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Carl and Melvin Windisch.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16th, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Following visitation Marion will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date. The family requests memorials to Aspen Place Activity Fund or PAAIN (People Assisting Animals in Need).
