Bulldogs Sweep Cubs In JV Baseball

Game one:

Early lead gives the Batesville Bulldogs JV victory over Madison 16-2

The Batesville Bulldogs JV jumped out to an early lead on Madison and captured a 16-2 victory on Saturday.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Batesville Bulldogs JV left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A groundout by Logan Mears during the first inning and an RBI single by Lane Oesterling, a three-run double by Kyle Siefert, and a groundout by Jayden Beal in the second inning fueled the Batesville Bulldogs JV’s offense early.

Siefert racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Batesville Bulldogs JV.

Anthony Butz‘s seven strikeouts helped the Batesville Bulldogs JV to the victory. Butz allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk over five innings.

Game two:

Early lead gives the Batesville Bulldogs JV victory over Madison 18-2

The Batesville Bulldogs JV jumped out to an early lead on Madison and captured an 18-2 victory on Saturday.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Batesville Bulldogs JV to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Logan Mears and a groundout by Caleb Raab in the first inning helped the Batesville Bulldogs JV put some runs on the board early.

Mears put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Batesville Bulldogs JV.

Lane Oesterling got the win for the Batesville Bulldogs JV. He allowed one earned run over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV’s Mears, Raab, Anthony Butz and Oesterling combined for eight hits and four RBIs.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV piled on three more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Raab singled, scoring Mears.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV increased their lead with seven runs in the fourth. Mears kicked things off with a single, bringing home Christian Prickel.

The Batesville Bulldogs JV added six more runs in the top of the fifth. Sam Wade started the inning with a single, scoring Andrew Deputy. That was followed up by Oesterling’s single, bringing home Wade.
