Jerry L. Shelton

Jerry L. Shelton, 77, of Elrod passed away at 11:45pm Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born at Milan on September 2, 1938 the son of Frank Leroy and Mildred Mae Johnson Shelton. Survivors include two sons Andy Shelton of Osgood and Mark (Lupe) Shelton of Vacaville, California; one daughter Polly (Tony) Woods of North Vernon; 4 grandchildren; one brother William (Mary) Shelton of Osgood; three sisters Judy (William) Jackson of Greendale, Ethel Herrin of Lynn, and Connie Shelton of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Rita Mae Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a 1956 graduate of Milan High School. He was employed with Schenleys in Lawrenceburg for 29 years and retired from Fernald Feed Materials Production Center near Harrison, Ohio. Jerry had attended the Washington Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 11am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Michael Cammack of the Bethany Baptist Church in Osgood officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9am until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Washington Cemetery or the Activities Fund of the Manderley Health Care Center in care of the funeral home.
