GREENSBURG, Ind. – Insulting a law enforcement officer in the same restaurant you skip the bill on is a good way to perhaps end up in jail.
25-year-old Chad McNicholas, of Westport, was booked into the Decatur County Jail Monday on suspicion of theft, resisting law enforcement and public intoxication.
McNicholas was dining at a Mexican restaurant in Greensburg where he allegedly insulted a deputy and then failed to pay the $30 bill before leaving on a bicycle, the Greensburg Daily News reports.
The deputy, who was dining at the restaurant, called fellow officers who were able to locate someone matching the description on Davidson Street. Police say the suspect tried to ride past the officer before being thrown to the ground and taken into custody.
Authorites said McNicholas had a blood alcohol content of 0.147 percent. The legal limit in Indiana is 0.08 percent.
