GREENSBURG, Ind. – Stacey Chasteen cited personal reasons for her resignation as Greensburg police chief on Monday, December 1.
The veteran law enforcement officer began her career as a police dispatcher in 1993 and was promoted through the ranks eventually being named police chief three years ago.
Greensburg Mayor Gary Herbert said, “The City of Greensburg will miss her kindness and her dedication to her job and the many things that she has taken part of in our community to make Greensburg a better place to live.”
Lt. Brendan Bridges will begin serving as interim police chief on Sunday. Bridges has worked his entire 13-year career with the Greensburg Police Department.
He is the son of Bob Bridges, who served as Rushville’s mayor from 2000-2007.
“We have much enthusiasm with Brendan accepting this position and look forward to his leadership to continue to make Greensburg a better place to live,” Herbert said in a statement.
