RISING SUN, Ind. — The Rising Sun Regional Foundation (RSRF) awarded a total of $225,038 in 12 new grants in the past quarter. These grants included:
- $30,000 to the City of Batesville toward a new recycling center;
- $19,038 to Friendship Regional Sewer District toward the purchase of equipment to supply an onsite laboratory;
- $24,000 to the Versailles Volunteer Fire Department toward the purchase of a new EMS First Response vehicle;
- $6,500 to the Milan Community School Corporation toward the purchase of cabinets for the health clinic at its elementary school;
- $4,000 to the Southeastern Indiana YMCA toward the purchase of new equipment for its playground areas;
- $9,000 to Oldenburg Academy toward the purchase of laptops for its business/journalism department; and
- $15,000 to the Ripley County Parks & Recreation toward the replacement of a shelter at the Ripley County Fairgrounds.
- Up to $40,000 to the City of Rising Sun toward a feasibility study for the development of a regional port facility;
- $35,000 to the City of Rising Sun toward the purchase of new equipment for the street department;
- $8,000 to the Ohio County Historical Society toward the renovation of the Clore Blacksmith shop;
- $20,000 to the Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation toward an outside schoolwide professional development program, such as Five Star;
- Up to $14,500 to the Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation toward the purchase of a vehicle to be used for Driver’s Education;
