(Decatur County, IN) – A Columbus man is behind bars following his arrest on a charge stemming from a criminal incident that occurred in Decatur County three months ago.
Indiana State Police say the investigation began after a victim reported being battered at a property in Decatur County back in August.
Following the investigation, the case was presented to the Decatur County Prosecutor’s Office for review, which led to a warrant being issued for 32-year-old Brian Vaillancourt.
He was arrested Thursday morning at his home in Columbus and is charged with one count of Sexual Battery (Level 6 felony).
Officers from the Columbus Police Department assisted ISP in the arrest.
Vaillancourt is being held in the Decatur County Detention Center pending an initial court appearance.
