Donald Eugene Story, 76, of Greensburg, Indiana, and formerly of Connersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
Don was born on March 20, 1950, in Connersville, Indiana, the cherished son of Clarence I. Story, Sr., and Helen E. Story (nee Demaree). He graduated from Connersville High School in 1968. On February 11, 1995, he married Bonnie Lois Issacs (nee Rader), and together they shared more than 19 loving years of marriage.
Don was employed by Visteon in Connersville for more than 30 years before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping, and truly appreciated just about anything outdoors, especially when he could share those experiences with his beloved wife. The two also enjoyed traveling, collecting vases together, and making trips to her family farm in Kentucky, a place Don especially loved visiting.
Above all, Don cherished his family and did everything he could to spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren. For the past 10 years, he also greatly enjoyed spending time at Kaleidoscope Treasures, where he enjoyed working and visiting with guests.
Those surviving who will cherish Don’s memory include his brother and sister-in-law, Clarence “Sonny” and Kay Story; two nieces, Elizabeth (Simone) Lucarini and Barbara (Richard) Fitzpatrick; five stepchildren, Greg Isaacs, Marie (Darrin) Moore, Cassandra Messer, Marcus Isaacs, and Martina (Glen) Meredith; 13 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Bonnie Lois Story, Don was preceded in death by five siblings, Harvey, Floyd, Darlene, Luther, and Mary Diane “Jane,” as well as one step-grandchild, Airastella Ervin.
