Why the program exists
A Greener Tomorrow was started in 2020 by members of Ripley Youth Outreach. Its mission is to invest in projects and programs that protect and expand the natural landscapes and resources of Ripley County.
The foundation says the program aims to increase appreciation for the natural environment, enhance community well-being, boost economic growth, and ensure a thriving future for county residents.
“A Greener Tomorrow reflects our belief that preserving and enhancing Ripley County’s natural environment is an investment in the future of our communities.”
— Amy Streator, Executive Director, Ripley County Community Foundation
Streator said preservation of the county’s natural habitat is among the foundation’s key grantmaking priorities. She said she hopes the grants, though modest in size, will spark larger conversations, inspire additional action, and create lasting momentum for environmental preservation throughout Ripley County.
