Miss Bonnie Jo Peters, age 76, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 15, 1950 in Milan, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Robert Earl and Florence Marie (VanTyle) Peters. She was raised in Florence and Patriot, Indiana and was a 1968 graduate of Patriot High School. During her high school years, Bonnie enjoyed participating in a bowling league, a pastime that would continue to bring her enjoyment throughout her life. Bonnie was employed for 23 years at the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana and later devoted 20 years of service to SSE Manufacturing Plant in Florence, Kentucky. Bonnie was a member of the Florence Church of Christ in Florence, Indiana. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was relaxing and watching her favorite television programs, spending time at the bowling alley, or caring for children through babysitting. Bonnie had a special place in her heart for her family and treasured the moments they shared together. Her life was one of quiet simplicity, hard work, and devotion to those she held dear. Bonnie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Bonnie passed away at 4:07 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Bonnie is survived by her loving daughter, Roberta Marie “Bobbie” Peters of Vevay, IN; her brother, Kerry Peters and his wife, Judy of Madison, IN; her nieces, Mandy Kay Holcroft and her husband, Scott of Madison, IN, and Lisa Marie Brawner and her companion, Rick Jackson of Dillsboro, IN; her several great-nieces and great-nephews; her aunts and uncles, Doris Ann Shadday of Madison, IN, Leslie and Shirley VanTyle of Cleves, OH, and Barbara “Babe” Bowling of Fairview, IN; and her several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Earl Peters, died July 16, 1985; her mother, Florence Marie (VanTyle) Peters, died February 1, 2024; and her several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2026, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
