(St. Leon, IN) – The East Central FFA Chapter is representing Indiana at the National FFA Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event taking place at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
The convention is taking place at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium October 21-24.
East Central won the state title in April.
During the event at the national convention, members will complete a general knowledge test, landscape estimating practicum, verbal customer assistance scenario, ornamental plant, pest, weed, plant disorder identification, and a plant propagation/potting activity.
They will also complete a series of hands-on activities such as placing landscape pavers, building retaining walls, irrigation repair and maintenance and landscape equipment operation.
The team consists of Noah Long, Parker Simpson, Hunter Scholle, Jared Enda, and Broegan Kunz.
This will be East Central’s ninth time competing in this event.
