Mr. Thurman Thomas “Tom” Claypoole

Mr. Thurman Thomas “Tom” Claypoole, age 64, of Vevay, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at his residence. After a long, courageous battle with cancer, his daughter, Kacey Claypoole, by his side. Next to Kacey for support were friends Deann Spears and Debi Price. Thurman was born in Ohio on September 16, 1960, to Wayne Taylor and Ethel Irene (Francis) Claypoole. He had eight siblings. Tom was no stranger to a hard day’s work in his younger years. He often talked about the many jobs he had around Switzerland County. There weren’t many roads traveled with him that he didn’t point out a farm he had worked on or a home he had helped build. Above all, he loved his daughter more than anything and cherished every moment spent with her in the last years of his life. Having her live in the apartment building with him was one of his greatest joys. Tom loved playing his guitar and singing, watching old westerns, and sometimes painting.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Kacey Claypoole; his siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Taylor and Ethel Irene (Francis) Claypoole and other relatives.

A celebration of life Service will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, his daughter wishes that memorial donations may be made to Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Tom’s name to help pay for his celebration of Life.
