
(West Harrison, IN) – First responders from multiple agencies were called Monday evening to a fire on the State Road 46 bridge over the Whitewater River in West Harrison.
A paint supply truck caught fire on the bridge around 7:30 p.m., and was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
State Road 46 was closed from Whites Hill Road to the bridge during the firefighting operation.
There were no injuries reported.
The fire remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the New Trenton Volunteer Fire Department, St. Leon Volunteer Fire Department, Harrison Ohio Fire Department, Dearborn County Emergency Management, Indiana Department of Transportation, and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
The bridge has been closed as part of an INDOT rehabilitation project since early April.
