Following the club’s financial report, Wiseman outlined several initiatives he would like to pursue during his year as president.

Those plans range from creating more opportunities for members to participate to bringing back one of the organization’s past events.

PRIORITIES FOR 2026-27

  • Grow youth involvement through the Junior Optimist Club.
  • Add occasional evening meetings so more members can participate.
  • Partner with the YMCA to increase participation in Tri-Star Basketball.
  • Revive the club’s annual golf scramble.
  • Create a memoir documenting the first 50 years of the Greensburg Optimist Club.

The plans give the club a mix of new initiatives and revived traditions as it begins its 2026-27 year.

Founded around the Optimist mission of supporting young people and local communities, the Greensburg club holds regular meetings and sponsors activities designed to benefit area youth.
