Born on August 19, 1947, in Batesville, Indiana, Juanita lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a spirit that touched all who knew her.
Juanita was the beloved daughter of Henry and Clara Pohlar, who predeceased her and whose memories she held dear. She is survived by her loving children, Tamela Hollingsworth, Jacki “LuAnn” Deppe, and Karla Smith, who were the light of her life. Her brother, Leonard Pohlar, and his spouse, Diane, also survive her and were a source of constant support and love.
A devoted grandmother, Juanita was blessed with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her later years. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Juanita’s professional life was marked by dedication and excellence as she served as a loan officer at Ball State University. Her colleagues remember her for her diligence, integrity, and the compassionate way she approached her work.
Beyond her career, Juanita’s life was a tapestry of vibrant interests and hobbies that brought her immense joy. She had a passion for riding her motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the open road. She enjoyed friendly competition in pool and bowling, and could often be found at the card table playing Euchre or calling out Bingo with her signature enthusiasm. Her spunky nature and sharp wit made her a beloved member of every community she joined.
Above all, Juanita possessed a fierce love for her family—a love that was evident in her every action and word. Her spirit was a guiding light, her laughter a balm, and her presence a gift that will be sorely missed.
