South Decatur’s Braxton Evans plus North Decatur’s Adam Whatley and Landon Rohls are the MIFC offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively. Evans completed 13 of 19 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in the Cougars’ 36-34 loss to Paoli in Week 6. Whatley had four solo tackles, two assists, a forced fumble, three tackles for loss for minus-16 yards and a sack in the Chargers’ 28-6 win over Linton-Stockton. His teammate Rohls is the co-special teamer of the week after he booted five kickoffs for 244 yards for a 49-yard average and was 2-for-2 on extra point attempts.
The Cincinnati Reds say Redsfest will not take place this year due to the impending expiration of the Major League Baseball Collective Bargaining Agreement on December 1 and the expected lockout. The Reds say they plan to bring back the two-day fan event in December 2027.
It’s the winner-take-all Game 3 of the WNBA first round playoff series tonight between the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces. The best-of-three-series is knotted at one game a piece.
