Ruth Ellen Hurley, 93, of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Aspen Place in Greensburg.
She was born on June 19, 1933, in Sunman, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Alvina (Galle) Mosmeier.
On October 5, 1963, she married Bob Hurley. They built a life together until his death on January 19, 2001.
Ruth began her working years in the sewing room at Hillenbrand and later moved into the office. When her girls were little she left that work behind so she could be home with them. She enjoyed sewing and going out to eat. At Aspen Place she looked forward to bingo, and she followed college basketball with room in her heart for both Indiana and Purdue. She collected Longaberger baskets with the same quiet pride she brought to everything she cared about. More than any of those things, she loved spending time with her family.
The family is grateful to the staff at Aspen Place for the care and love Ruth received while she was a resident there.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Hurley and Cindy Molnar, and her grandchildren, Molli Hurley and Cassidy Molnar.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John UCC Cemetery in Penntown.
