(Batesville, IN) – Batesville Main Street’s new Executive Director met the public at a meet-and-greet in Amack’s conference room Friday morning.
Rebekah Porter told WRBI she’s excited about her new role.
“I want to collaborate with the board and and collaborate with other community members to make Batesville a great place to live and bring some vitality to it,” Porter said. “So I’m ready for the challenge.”
Porter says she thinks Batesville has good momentum when it comes to where the downtown area is headed.
“Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I want to build on the programs and events that we have. What I’m really excited about is the Ward School. I got to sit in a design committee meeting and see how that’s coming along,” she said. “I’m just ready to see future events and how we can improve upon those.”
Porter began her new duties last Monday, September 21.
She replaces Amy Lunsford, who recently became the City of Batesville’s Economic Development Director.
