Congratulations to the Mid-Indiana Football Conference offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week.
Simon Barber and Matthew Fields from North Decatur, and Milan’s Lucas Hensley and Zane Richardson all shined on offense in Week 5.
Barber had 17 carries for 151 yards plus two receptions for 20 yards in the Chargers’ 42-6 win over Switzerland County, while Fields was 9 of 18 passing for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Offensive linemen Hensley and Richardson had four pancake blocks a piece, and both graded at 100 percent following the Indians’ 68-0 dismantling of Edinburgh.
Kaiden Asche from South Decatur is the defensive player of the week after he recorded four solo tackles, two assists, two tackles for loss (minus-eight yards) and two sacks for minus-18 in the Cougars’ 49-0 whitewash of Brown County.
North Decatur’s Landon Rohls earned special teams player of the week honors after he kicked off seven times for 350 yards (50 yard average) and was 4 for 5 on extra points.
