Milton Teer has resigned as Milan High School baseball coach after one season. His resignation was accepted at this week’s school board meeting. Teer was formerly the longtime softball coach at Milan. The school district is starting the search for a new varsity baseball coach.
The Atlanta Braves knocked off the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 in 10 innings in a game heard last night on WRBI. Mauricio Dubon’s infield single in the bottom of the 10th off Luis Mey won it for the hosts. Mey was tagged with the loss; his record falls to 0-1. Former Red Brent Suter got the win in relief; he’s now 3-2. The rubber match of the series is tonight. Brady Singer (6-15, 5.67 ERA) makes the start Cincinnati. Former Red Tyler Mahle (7-10, 3.81 ERA) goes for Atlanta. Coverage begins at 6:45 on 103.9 FM.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andre Iosivas has been been placed on Injured Reserve with a torn thumb ligament. Iosivas underwent surgery and will miss at least the next four games. Bengals coach Zac Taylor said it is not a season-ending injury.
As expected, the Indianapolis Colts have placed wide receiver and former UC star Alec Pierce on I-R with a heel injury. Pierce will miss at least four games, and is expected to return during the regular season, according to coach Shane Steichen.
The Indiana Fever wrap up the regular season tonight visiting the Minnesota Lynx. It’s the second of back-to-back games between the two playoff-bound teams. Tipoff tonight in Minneapolis is at 8 p.m.
