Jerry Dale Dickerson, 80, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026. Jerry was born on Saturday, September 22, 1945, in Milan; son of Clarence and Naomi (Jasper) Dickerson. Jerry worked as a laborer for B&O Railroad and served in the United States Army. He was known to always love socializing with his friends and family.
Jerry will be missed by his son Jeff (Sherry) Dickerson of Osgood; mother of Jeff Velma Peugh of Aurora; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Noami Dickerson; brothers Harry, Clarence, Jack, Estel, and Jim Dickerson; granddaughter Maggie Dickerson; and life companion Rose Berkley.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Jerry from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mona Safley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery with military rites provided by Dillsboro American Legion Post #292. Memorials may be given in honor of Jerry to Dillsboro American Legion Post #292 or Ohio County EMS.
