Hazmat Training Exercise Set for Saturday

(Dearborn County, IN) – The Dearborn County Emergency Management Agency and the Dearborn County Local Emergency Planning Commission will conduct a simulated hazmat training exercise on Saturday, September 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Perfect North Slopes.

The staging area will be set up at nearby Tanner Valley Church.

You can expect to see increased public safety equipment in the area, and possibly have to deal with minor traffic delays during the exercise.

This is a planned simulation designed to test and improve multi-agency coordination, communication, and response protocols.

You’re asked to avoid the entrances and parking areas of Perfect North Slopes and Tanner Valley Church while the drill is going on. The agencies say they are conducting the exercise in parking lots to reduce motorist inconvenience

Officials say there is no danger to the public.
