Oldenburg Academy boys soccer won its sixth consecutive match with a 5-2 win at Rising Sun on Monday night. Rylan Hill and Connor Holder scored two goals a piece while Adam Weber added another. Twister goalkeeper Ryan Hautman made three saves and midfielder Blake Walter recorded four steals. OA outshot the Shiners 28-9. The Twisters improve to 7 and 3.
Batesville Middle School volleyball took two from East Central. It was the Bulldog 7th graders in two sets – 25-21, 25-9. In the 8th grade match, BMS came out on top – 25-22, 25-18. Both Batesville teams are now 8 and 1.
In middle school cross country, Batesville won both ends of a home meet with East Central and Greendale. The Bulldog girls scored a perfect 15, and the Trojans 50. The Tigers had an incomplete. BMS won the boys race with 24, followed by Greendale with 37, and East Central 71.
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Reds 4-1 in the series lid lifter in downtown Cincinnati as heard last night on WRBI. The Reds avoided the shutout when Elly De La Cruz launched a 457-foot home run in the 9th inning – the third-longest round tripper of his career and the longest by a Red this season. It soared into the alley between the bleachers in right-center field and the right tall stack and out of the ball park. Game two of the series is tonight. Rhett Lowder (6-10, 5.81 ERA) makes the start for Cincinnati; LA counters with Yoshinobu Yamamoto (13-8, 2.62 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 FM.
Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall is taking responsibility for the club’s disappointing 2026 season. Krall tells MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon he expects to remain with the Reds and lead the team’s retooling for 2027. The Reds are 70 and 80 after winning 83 games and earning a National League Wild Card berth a year ago.

The Longhorns rallied from a 20-point 4th quarter deficit to stun previous #1 Ohio State om their high-profile encounter Saturday night. The Buckeyes plummeted to the sixth spot.
