(Greensburg, IN) – Greensburg City Council this week marked the close out of the Owner Occupied Rehabilitation program.
The city got involved in April 2025 when it received a $350,000 Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs grant, and chipped in $50,000, to assist low-to-moderate-income homeowners make essential repairs to their dwellings.
On Thursday’s edition of WRBI’s The Daily Pod, Mayor Joshua Marsh says a lot of good work was completed over the past 18 months.
“We were able to help 21 homeowners, we were able to re-do 13 roofs, 16 heating and cooling systems, two ADA-compliant accesses, and eight water heaters,” Marsh said. “Nine of those (participants) were elderly, four were disabled and the rest were single heads of households.”
A testimonial from an 88-year-old participant was entered into council’s public record.
She said the program has allowed her to have central heating and cooling for the first time in her life.
