The Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the Cincinnati Reds 14-1 to sweep the three game series on the West Coast as heard late last night on WRBI. The Reds’ lone run – and highlight – came on an Elly De La Cruz home run to centerfield off Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto. With that 403-foot blast, De La Cruz extends his home run streak to a career-best five games. The Reds are off today before starting a three-game series in Milwaukee tomorrow night against the National League Central Division-leading Brewers, who have the best record in baseball at 91 and 56.
The Seattle Seahawks rallied to beat the New England Patriots 13-10 in the NFL season opener last night in the Pacific Northwest. The defending Super Bowl champs trailed most of the game before scoring 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter.
