(Aurora, IN) – The South Dearborn Community School Corporation says it has reached a mutually agreeable separation agreement with Superintendent Dr. Ronald Ross.
This comes following the controversial suspension last month of Dillsboro Elementary School principal Kyle Miller, who was accused of insubordination.
After parents and other stakeholders packed a school board meeting and a petition drive for a change in district leadership was launched, Miller’s suspension was lifted.
The school board on Tuesday night named Dr. Janet Platt to serve as interim superintendent, effective immediately.
They plan to begin the search for a new, permanent superintendent in the future.
The school corporation says additional information about the process will be released to the public once plans are finalized.
“The Board of Trustees and the school corporation thank Dr. Ross for his service, time, and contributions to South Dearborn and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” reads a statement from the district. “The South Dearborn Community School Corporation remains committed to providing strong leadership and maintaining its focus on the students, staff, families, and community it serves,”
