(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Police Department is urging residents to take precautions following a rash of vehicle break-ins over the past week.
Police say someone has taken valuables from unlocked vehicles, and officers are investigating a number of cases throughout the city.
BPD says you should remove all valuables from your vehicle; lock your vehicle and check the doors because door locks can malfunction; and park in a well-lit area, and leave your yard or porch lights on.
Officers say if you have security cameras, double check that they are activated and working.
If you see a break-in happening, call 9-1-1 immediately.
