(New Marion, IN) – Several departments responded to a house fire on the 8,000 block of South U.S. 421 just before 9:30 Saturday morning.
The New Marion Volunteer Fire Department received assistance from Versailles, Osgood, and Friendship.
U.S. 421 was closed at County Road 800 South for nearly two hours while firefighters and emergency personnel worked the scene.
A cause and damage estimate were not listed, and there were no injuries reported.
The family was displaced and received assistance from the American Red Cross.
Also responding were the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office; Ripley County EMS; Ripley County Communications; and the Aurora Fire Department Rehab Unit brought cases of water to keep firefighters battling the flames hydrated on the hot and humid day.
