Batesville took two from Jac-Cen-Del in middle school volleyball on Thursday.
It was the Bulldog 7th graders over the Eagles in two sets, 25-17, 25-13.
“The Bulldogs were strong at the net with 24 kills. Eve Flannery had 5 kills. Lucy Bailie and Lila Wade had 4 kills each. Aubrey Kruthaupt had 3 kills. Cora Koehne and Kaili Craig each chipped in 2 kills. Vivian Duty, Emily Volz, Bailey Wendelman, and Brenna McCleary each earned a kill for the win. The team had a 95% serving percentage. Emily Volz was perfect from the service line with 16 for 16 serving, earning 12 points including 5 aces. Eve Flannery was also perfect from the line to earn 6 points including 2 aces. Ava Gunter was perfect from the line to chip in 5 points. Lila Wade – also perfect from the line- added 4 points and Aubrey Kruthaupt had 3 points,” said BMS 7th grade coach Angie Ehrman.
Batesville took the 8th grade contest in three sets, 25-21 (JCD), 25-11(B), 15-6 (B).
“After a rocky start with serve reception, the team settled down and played more consistently in all facets of the game. Tori Meyer earned a team high 10 points in 15 service attempts including 5 aces. Sydney Holtkamp scored 8 points including 4 aces, Lauren Ollier earned 8 points including 2 aces, and Emma Campbell chipped in 8 points including an ace to help control the game with service runs and consistency. Hannah Bruns closed out set 3 scoring 4 consecutive service points including 3 aces. Lauren Ollier knocked in 6 kills in 15 spikes, while Cali Oesterling, Hannah Bruns, and Emma Campbell all contributed 2 kills in the front row. Lillian Hixson and Aubree Roell each had a kill at the net. Tessa Rowlett, Bailee Adams, and Emma Campbell all passed well in the back row,” said Bulldog 8th grade coach Shelly Prickel.
