Batesville swept Franklin County in middle school volleyball.
It was the Bulldogs over the Wildcats in 7th grade action, 25-11, 25-9.
“Lila Wade, Chesney Placke, Cora Koehne, Kalli Craig, and Maddie Dole had good passing from the back row. Ava Gunter & Aubrey Kruthaupt set up the front row attack. From the front Lucy Bailie had 3 kills and 1 stuff block. Emily Volz, Bailey Wendelman, and Aubrey Kruthaupt all had a kill. Serving was strong. The team had 95% service completion. Aubrey Kruthaupt was 15/15 with 13 points including 5 aces. Cora Koehne had 7 points with 3 aces. Emily Volz added 5 points. Lucy Bailie chipped in 4 points,” said coach Angie Ehrman.
In the 8th grade contest, BMS won, 25-12, 25-15.
“Setters Sydney Holtkamp and Tori Meyer were both perfect on all 11 of their service attempts earning 9 points (including 4 aces) and 8 points (including an ace) respectively. Lauren Ollier served aggressively notching 7 points including a whopping 6 aces. Emma Campbell picked up 5 points including an ace while hitting all 9 of her serves. Lily Reding closed out the match with 4 big service points. Overall, the team served with 94% efficiency. Cali Oesterling was impressive at the net earning 7 kills in 11 swings, while Hannah Bruns added 4 kills in 9 attempts and a stuff block. Tori Meyer dished out 9 assists setting up the Bulldog attack,” said coach Shelly Prickel.
Both Batesville teams are now 4 and 1.
