
Mrs. Karen Marie (Pajak) Slater, age 82, of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on August 26, 1944 in Spokane, Washington. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Pajak and Melba Marie (Clark) Stewart. She was raised in Portland, Oregon and was a 1962 graduate of Franklin High School. Karen was united in marriage to Roger Clyde Slater on June 9, 1960 in Covington, Kentucky. Karen was a former medical assistant in Portland, Oregon and for General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Karen and Roger made their home in Switzerland County, Indiana in 1991. Karen loved animals, as well as, gardening and cooking. Karen passed away at 6:06 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her residence.
Karen is survived by her husband, Roger Clyde Slater of Switzerland County, Indiana; her nephew and caretaker, Richard Davis of Switzerland County, Indiana; her sisters, Donna of Portland, Oregon, and Marion Wolf of Portland, Oregon; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Pajak; her mother, Melba Marie (Clark) Stewart; and her brother, Stanley Roark.
Karen’s wishes were to be cremated and her cremains scattered on their farm.
