(Brookville, IN) – Franklin County Community Schools, Stayin’ Alive L-C-C and Franklin County Court Services are partnering on a new Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) program.
Students who are referred to the program will report to Franklin County Court Services, where they will have a structured environment to complete their schoolwork while participating in educational programming focused on prevention, decision-making, accountability, and making better choices.
“Our goal is simple: when a student makes a mistake, we want to use that opportunity to educate, intervene, and help them make a different choice moving forward,” Stayin’ Alive wrote in a statement.
Phoebe Kroen will serve as the OSS Manager.
Her duties will be to coordinate the day-to-day program, work closely with students, families, school staff, and Court Services, and help connect students with additional resources and support when needed.
