Mary Catherine Scheele, age 95, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Oldenburg, Indiana, passed away at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1931, at home in Oldenburg. She is the daughter of Harry J. and Clara (nee Simmermeyer) Scheele.
Mary worked at Western-Southern Insurance Company for 40+ years. She volunteered for many years at the Anna Louise Inn in downtown Cincinnati, she also resided there and worked there until the age of 87. In her downtime, she enjoyed sewing and word find puzzles in her later years.
Mary is survived by her sisters Clara Becker of New Lebanon, OH, Alice Stenger of Brookville, IN, and Irene (Jim) Tebbe of Greensburg, IN; sister-in-law Beverly Scheele of Oldenburg, IN; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles and Lambert Scheele.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9th, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., at Holy Family Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m., with Fr. EJ Stein OFM officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Cincinnati.
