Congratulations to the Mid-Indiana Football Conference Players of the Week for the opening week of the high school football season.
The offensive player of the week is Simon Barber from North Decatur; Milan’s Kamden Miller is the defensive player of the week; and his Indian teammate, Hayden Poole, takes top honors on special teams.
Barber had 19 carries for 190 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers’ season-opening 39-2 win at South Decatur last Friday. He also had 3 catches for 80 yards.
Miller recorded five solo tackles, five assists, three tackles for loss, a half-sack, and one pressure in the Indians’ 56-0 victory at Rushville.
Poole had five total returns for 154 yards and a touchdown (three punt and two kick returns).
