The Arizona Diamondbacks came from behind to beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 in the rubber match of the three-game series in Phoenix heard yesterday on WRBI. The Reds held a 3-0 lead before the Diamondbacks scored a run in the 6th inning and tacked on four more in the 7th. Andrew Abbott took the loss and is now 6-9 on the year. He gave up seven hits, four earned runs and two walks while striking out six in 6-plus innings. Eugenio Suarez drove in two runs. The Reds open a three-game series late tonight in San Francisco against the Giants. Chase Burns (14-2, 2.51 ERA) tries again for his 15th win of the year. Coverage begins at 9:15 p.m. on 103.9 FM.
Reds outfielder Michael Toglia has been placed on the 10-day Injured List, retroactive to Saturday, with a right shoulder dislocation. Infielder/outfielder Ivan Johnson has been recalled from Triple-A Louisville to fill the roster spot.

Kyle Kirkwood won IndyCar’s inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix on the streets of Washington, D.C. Kirkwood dominated the historic 147-lap race, which celebrated the nation’s 250th birthday. It’s Kirkwood’s seventh career victory and second checkered flag this season.
