(Versailles, IN) – Community members have invited elected officials and representatives from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to talk about the future of Versailles State Park Lake next week.
A town hall meeting is set for Monday, Aug. 24 starting at 6 pm at the Versailles Community Center.
Sediment has been building in the lake for several decades; a group of area residents wants to make sure the lake continues to play a vital role in Southeastern Indiana’s future.
Next steps are expected to be discussed at Monday evening’s meeting.
A petition drive to save the lake has been launched through ICareAboutVersaillesStateParkLake.org; you can find the petition and more on that website.
