(Greensburg, IN) — Drivers in Decatur County should expect some brief delays beginning Monday as the county highway department starts its latest round of chip seal work.
The Decatur County Highway Department says chip seal application is scheduled to begin Monday, August 17. The accompanying map shows the roads slated for treatment and the planned order in which crews will complete the work.
Motorists are urged to slow down and watch for flaggers while crews are on the road.
Drivers should also use extra caution on freshly treated roads. Loose stone is common immediately after chip seal is applied, and reducing speed can help protect both vehicles and the new road surface.
Brief delays are expected in active work zones.
