Robert “Bob” Otis Brack, of Brookville, was born on January 3, 1942, at home on the family farm in Metamora, the cherished son of Clarence “Pete” Brack and Helen Brack (née Baker). Bob was a proud graduate of Brookville High School, Class of 1961. He married the Homecoming Queen, JeAnn Beckman, on June 2, 1962, and together they created a life filled with love and family.
Bob drove a truck for the family owned milk business, Beckman Brothers, for 36 years. He was also proud to have served as a County Commissioner for 16 years, a position he truly enjoyed. Bob was a longtime member of Klemmes Corner United Church of Christ and was also a member of Fairfield Masonic Lodge No. 98. He was a proud Special Deputy with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Tom Davis, where he also proudly served as a Mounted Patrol Officer.
When Bob had some free time, he enjoyed fishing and playing the bass guitar, having previously played with the “Country Travelers” band. He was a decorated high school athlete, earning numerous awards and setting records in both football and track. Bob was also instrumental in converting the former Brookville High School into what is now the Franklin County Government Center, something he was very proud to accomplish during his tenure as County Commissioner.
Above all, Bob enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He was a true community man who took great pride in the people and community around him.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 84, Bob passed away in the comfort of his home.
Those surviving who will carry Bob’s legacy forward include his two children, Darren (Jill) Brack and Amy Chaney; one daughter-in-law, Jane Brack; six grandchildren, Amber (Richard) Feist, Alex (Morgan) Brack, Aaron (Ashley) Brack, Amanda Chaney, Tyler Chaney, and Kendyl Brack; six great grandchildren, Jackson, Lily, Violet, Eivin, and Jude Feist, and Evelyn Brack; as well as three sisters, Beverly Houston, Karen Short, and Patty Martin. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, JeAnn; one son, Robert “Rob” Brack; one son-in-law, Elvis Chaney; two sisters, Stella Bossert and Carol Borne; as well as three nephews, JR Bossert, Jimmy Houston, and Billy “Tucker” Borne.
A private funeral service will be held at Creekside Church at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in Klemmes Corner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Fairfield Masonic Lodge No. 98. Donations may be mailed to 9004 Tremont Dr, Brookville, IN 47012.
