Linda Jean Vincent, 74, Batesville

Linda Jean Vincent, 74, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born on September 12, 1951, in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of Estal and Mable (Biddle) Gunter. She married Gary T. Vincent on August 4, 2001, and together they shared 25 beautiful years of laughter and companionship.

Linda was a dedicated daughter, devoted wife, wonderful mother, proud grandmother, loving sister, and faithful friend. Her children were the center of her world, but when grandchildren arrived, they captured her heart in an entirely new way. She cherished every moment with them, whether baking cookies, hosting tea parties, decorating gingerbread houses each Christmas, or simply cheering them on in all their activities and accomplishments. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and homemade treats, always keeping cookies on hand for any visitor who might stop by.

Linda had an extraordinary gift for making ordinary moments feel special. She had a warm, welcoming spirit and loved filling her home with family, friends, laughter, and the aroma of something delicious baking in the kitchen. Her greatest joy was bringing people together around her table.

Linda’s extraordinary gift for creating wedding and birthday cakes was widely recognized; they were not only beautiful works of art but also exceptionally delicious. Her creativity and loving spirit sweetened countless celebrations, bringing joy to family, friends, and her community for many years.

Linda also loved to travel, especially to the beach, where she found peace listening to the waves and spending time with those she loved. No matter where she was, her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Gary Vincent; her children, Doug (Suzi) Bergman, Elisa (Adam) Garlitch, and Ann (Aaron) Kincer; her stepchildren, Todd Vincent and Bethany (Joe Shelters) Vincent; her brothers, Garold (Sue) Gunter, Raymond (Marie) Gunter, and Jan (Monica) Gunter; her grandchildren, Kayla (Cameron) Washnock, Emily Taylor (fiancé Ashten Bollinger), Megan Kincer (fiancé Josh Merkle), Jessica Kincer (fiancé AJ Tillmann), Katie Baier, Joey Kincer, Quinn Bergman, and Coralin Shelters; her great-grandchildren, Regan, Nolan, and Rylan; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Estal and Mabel Gunter.
