Jeffrey William Blanken, age 60, of Metamora, Indiana, passed at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was the son of Alvin Jon and Shirley (nee Prakel) Blanken. He married Vicki (nee Thurston) Blanken on October 12, 2001, in Brookville, Indiana. He worked at Hill-Rom for 38 years before retiring.
Jeffrey was a loving and caring family man that liked traveling and spending time with his adored wife, Vicki. An avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hiking, animals, and his dogs; who he enjoyed taking on long walks throughout his property. He worked hard tending to his land and his homestead.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife Vicki Blanken of Metamora, IN; mother Shirley Blanken of Oldenburg, IN; step-sons Nicholas (Ashley Hartman-Francisco) Francisco of Indianapolis, IN, and Douglas Francisco of Port Townsand, WA; brothers Greg (Cathy) Blanken of Oldenburg, Doug (Kathryn) Blanken of Park City, UT, Kelly (Millie) Blaken of Batesville, IN, and Eric (Kelly) Blanken of Oldenburg, IN; sister Tracy (Hans-Werner Zeller) Blanken-Zeller of Metamora, IN/Hilton Head, SC; grandchildren Lillian and Zayden Francisco; close personal friend Jessi Haeft; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his cherished dog Tootsie. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Jon Blanken.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Weigel funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m., immediately following visiting hours at the funeral home.
