Elverda “Birdie” “Tweeter” Kaiser, 92, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Lawrenceburg Indiana.
Born on July 4, 1934, Elverda was the daughter of William and Ida (Nolte) Westmeier. She grew up in Farmers Retreat, Indiana, and graduated from Dillsboro High School. In 1961, she married Donald E. Kaiser, and together they made their home on the Kaiser family farm on Kaiser Drive.
Elverda dedicated many years to serving her community through her work in banking. She began her career as a teller at Dillsboro State Bank and later worked at several other banks throughout the area. She was also employed at Perfect North Slopes, where she was honored as Employee of the Year for 2006-2007. Many will remember her warm smile and friendly service while working in the Chow Corral at Perfect North Slopes.
A faithful member of St. John’s Bellaire Lutheran Church, Elverda devoted countless hours to her church family. She served on the Altar Guild, helped with the annual Ice Cream Social, assisted with funeral dinners, taught Sunday School, and faithfully supported the many ministries of the church. She dearly loved her church family, and her faith remained an important part of her life.
Elverda found joy in working outdoors and took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed gardening and yard work, and every growing season brought an abundance of vegetables that she lovingly canned and froze to share with family and friends throughout the year.
She was an exceptional cook whose kitchen was always filled with the aromas of homemade bread, pot roast, casseroles, and countless other family favorites. Her meals brought everyone together around the table and created treasured memories for those she loved. When she wasn’t in the kitchen or garden, Elverda enjoyed spending quiet time working puzzles.
Above all, Elverda will be remembered for her strong work ethic, unwavering faith, generous heart, and the love she poured into her family, friends, and church. Whether she was serving a meal, tending her garden, volunteering at church, or welcoming someone into her home, she did so with kindness, humility, and genuine care for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ida (Nolte) Westmeier, her husband of 51 years, Donald Kaiser and her sister Martha Westmeier.
Elverda is survived by her daughter, Teresa Martini and her husband, Patrick, of Manchester, Indiana; her sister, Lorene Westmeier of Dillsboro, Indiana; extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory; four caregivers Sis, Karen, Luke, and Krissy.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Sunday August 9th at St. John Lutheran Church and funeral service will be 11:00am on Monday August 10th also at the church.
